Having a dedicated section of the building is a great idea for your CNC machining division, but an access door half the size of the first machine, can be a slight problem!
Not to us and our good customer Wallace & Cooper Engineering in Timaru recently, as the decision was easily made… no problem … just cut a hole in the roof!!
Working with the local crane company, Total CNC staff successfully lowered the Vturn 46CV weighing 13500 kg, through the roof without a scratch.
This is a classic example of our point of difference. Most machine suppliers would struggle with this scenario and leave it to the customer to install the machine. Not Total CNC, this difficult
installation is no problem and we work with the customer and the lifting crew to ensure installation is safe for both machine and
personnel… all included in the price!
Wallace and Cooper’s Vturn 46 CV is the biggest of Victor’s CNC lathes and a real heavy duty CNC lathe.
The lathe has a swing of 820mm, 115mm bar capacity and 1750mm between centres. The 30kw spindle with gearbox, ensures
maximum metal removal for large parts and heavy cutting.
This CV model is fitted with VDI-50 live tooling, so this massive lathe is capable of both heavy turning and milling of complex parts.
Lifting a machine of this size, requires skill and possibly more
importantly, patience! Consider how level this big machine is on the hook in the photos. This does not happen by luck and our skilled crew and contractors are experts in this situation.
