1.The Philosophy
Total CNC was founded in 1993 by brothers Rodney & Steve Oxford. The philosophy behind the company was to supply machine tools matched to suit the client’s requirements and also solve the missing link of SERVICE and SUPPORT to clients investing in new machine tools. Today the company is owned & operated by Rodney & Adele Oxford but the steadfast focus on SERVICE & SUPPORT has not and will not ever change. 2.The Technical Team
Unless absolutely necessary Total CNC do not use outside contractors to service our machine tools & train our clients. Jason Donachie is the Service Manager at Total CNC & we have three CNC technicians based in Auckland & one in Tauranga. Together, our technical team has over 100 years’ experience operating, servicing & training on CNC machine tools. Service & training is therefore carried out by our own staff all being “hands on” tradesmen…..NOT a salesman or a sub-contractor following the machine manuals!!! Please compare our technical & service capability to that promised by our competitors. We are superior in all aspects of service and support and this high level of professionalism is GUARANTEED into the future.
3.The Sales Team
Total CNC’s sales team will provide our clients with valued & informed information on machines suitable for their machining application. Normally we will discuss the machine specification with our technical department prior to quoting the client, ensuring that the right machine is specified & offered. We are all qualified engineers…..Not “used car” salesmen!!! Our sales team will not demonstrate, train, or become involved in machine service issues. This is the responsibility of our skilled “in house” technical team, who are professionals in this area. Please compare this to our competitors who often rely on the salesman to also deliver the service and support. This is impossible to deliver!
4.Spare parts
We do not stock a large inventory of parts because our machines are always breaking down!!!…. This is part of our commitment to service & a wide range of parts is carried for all our machine tools, ranging from spare spindles, belts & bearings, to micro switches & electronic components. Check the spare parts carried by many of our competitors…..If in fact they carry any!
5.Tools & Machine Accessories
Forming our company, we realised that the “complete package” was another important key to our success. Not only was the service & training crucial, but also so was the ability to offer machine tooling, cutting tools & many machine accessories. Most of our clients continue to purchase many of their consumable machine tool requirements at very competitive prices from our comprehensive stock range. This ability further enhances the professional support we are able to offer our clients.
6. Training and Application Support
The most important part of the machine tool equation ….Why buy a machine if it takes many months to be able to operate it economically? Will a salesman conduct your training or will a professional hands-on engineer communicate with your staff? Will you get 2 days? 3 days? Or no days!!! Will you have telephone support available when you need it?
If your supplier uses a contractor, how will you contact him when he is being paid to work on another client’s machine? When you need application support or help getting out of a jam will the contractor support you at no charge?.........we suspect not!
Our training & telephone support system is part of the on going relationship between Total CNC & our clients & conducted by engineers highly skilled in CNC machining….NOT salesmen!!!
Initial training may be one or two days at the time of machine installation. This is normally enough at this time & further training days are spaced at intervals suitable to the client & ability of the operators. Our training is an on going partnership into the future.
7.On-call technical support
With our in-house service technicians, we operate an “on-call” support system. Incoming service calls are logged and the required information transferred immediately to our service team. This guarantees a fast and technical response ensuring no lengthy delays to solve often simple and quick fix issues. Your downtime is kept to an absolute minimum.
